Taking a Cue from Agents, Carnival Offers Group Promotions in August Jul 25th 2013, 17:22
Continuing its Carnival Conversations travel agent outreach program, the Fun Ship line is offering several group promotions Aug. 1-31. Calling August “Group Month,” Carnival Cruise Lines is offering “attractive” group rates on virtually all sailings from Dec.1 through May 31. In addition, Carnival is offering travel agents one free cruise berth for every 10 full-fare guests booked, versus the current policy of one free cruise berth for every 15 full-fare guests. Carnival also is expanding the group department hours of operation in August to include Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. EST.
“In our first month of Carnival Conversations, travel agents told us they would like to see Carnival offer better, more competitive group promotions, and to have enhanced group contact center support,” said Joni Rein, vice president of worldwide sales. “We know August is a big month for travel agents to book groups, so we wanted to show our support by offering them lower group rates, giving them a more favorable tour conductor credit earning opportunity and expanding our group department hours to include weekends.”
